Playing around with the film Title: DICE-IDE

Wiggle expression effect

We had to research how to create the wiggle expression for our title. This is the website which gave us the information we needed and e applied it to our title.

When we found the wiggle expression code we applied the effect onto our title. The process took place in adobe after effects and it is completed. We like the effect this gives the title, it makes it more interesting then white letters on a black background.

Storing and Organising footage

This is a screen shot of us uploading the footage onto our system so we can edit it on final cut and after effects. we have managed to get a lot of footage a pictures of our scene. we also put the footage into folders so we could keep organised. we also did this in the main editing system; final cut...

First Edit 15.1.2014

We took inspiration from Shutter island, we liked the blue- green effect on the scene that gives it an eerie and thrilling effect. We tried to create this on final cut by using several types of effects.

This is the before and after of the shot we filmed, we used a colour corrector to make the scene darker then added a tint that was blue, we also altered the RGB effect and desaturated it a little.

This is a screenshot of some of the effects that we used to make the shot change from orange to blue.
Overall the effect is quite nice, for a first attempt, however there are parts we aren't completely satisfied with. The candles for example don't have the brown/ golden 'glow' that we want them too and to achieve this we will have to play around with some effects some more.

First Day Filming 8.1.2014

People present when filming: Becky, Christina, Sanojan, Alex and Charlie.

Overall our first day of filming was quite successful. We managed to get a lot of shots and footage from different angles and perspectives, we know what bits we will have to re-film and what shots didn't work so well. We worked well as a group and all put the required input into filming, everyone was doing both filming and directing.

Character Profile-Review

The character we used as our 'psychopath' wasn't as we originally thought, he wasn't in the age range we planned on using. However this wasn't a problem as the psychopaths face wouldn't be in it to create a restricted opening, this creates tension and makes the audience want to view more. The character we used is shown below:

Name: Charlie Thomas- Burstow
Age: 17
Gender: male
The characters face is not shown throughout the whole of the film it is mostly just his hands as we have a restrictive narrative.
